One of those nights/days

On Thursday I spent 2 hours arguing with a tree in our front yard. It had to be removed because if it continued to grow there not only would it attack our elderly, unstable neighbour but it would also push against the retaining wall that stands between the 4 foot high, 8 feet deep mass of soil and rublle and the main road. So, unfortunately the end result was a broken tap root but it was collected today along with two other unsuitable-for-small-gardens shrubs to go to a new home. Oh how I love Freecycle, someone always wants plants be they house or garden variety. Also unfortunately (I hate that word, it's so hard to type!) three hours total trying to wrangle a tree from the earth left my arms in agony, I pulled every muscle, tendon and nerve from shoulder to finger tip so I donned my wrist splints, asked hubbie to kindly cut up my tea and make me a drink, dosed myself on some painkillers and went to bed.

I have now boogered my sleep pattern and I'm going back to work on Monday. Friday morning, wee small hours, I woke up and couldn't go back to sleep, when I eventually did i slept through to 11.30am. This morning I join hubbie going to bed at 11pm but silly me had a nap 3-7pm because my neck was trying to rip my brain out (well, it felt that way) so I didn't go to sleep and am infact still wide awake. Dawn started at 3.30am it's now 5.46am

On the plus side I am making progress on a Branching Out scarf in my henna'd brigantia, on the not so plus side I learnt why people strain off the henna *before* dyeing. I wound it in the wee small hours yesterday and covered the table, laptop, wii-mote and surrounding area in dried henna, every time I knit with it I get a little pile on my tum. Ah well, lesson learnt and it does make a pretty branching out scarf.

What else? Hmmmm..... Oooh, yes, Yarn Forward magazine are being clever and green, they're now offering a digital subscription of £25 for 10 magazines to anywhere in the world by e-mail, wonderful idea I think. Although I also think I may subscribe to The Knitter instead but not until my next paycheck as this one is completely ear-marked.

June is looking busy, seriously busy. For one thing I shall be doing my usual two shifts each day on work days and Tuesday morning knit'n'knatter but also.....
Thursday 4th - meal out with pals
Saturday 6th - UK Ravelry day down in Coventry
Saturday 13th - World Wide Knit In Public Day, my local meet is in Halifax at the Piece Hall
Saturday 20th - Todmorden Agricultural Show where i plan to talk nicely to sheep farmers about fleece aquisitions.
Monday 22nd - Hubbie's birthday, no idea what we're going to do, probably order take away.

So, yes, there go all my wages!

But now I think I shall go attempt to get some snooze in. I shall get up before midday though so I don't completely throw my system out.

Hey-ho. Atleast my arms aren't so sore I can't knit at all but I can only do limited knitting. I'm working on a commission in cotton and that is on hold as working cotton is hard so that's why I have cast on the branching out as it's a nice loose knit, ideal for sore, bored hands.
