I'm a member of the Yorkshire knitters group on Ravelry and once a month since KIP day last year we've met up to knit, natter and have lunch.
This month's meet was today at the Bear cafe in Tod. It was lovely, we all had good chats, the cafe manager actually likes us there because it makes the place look busy and encourages people who've not been before to come sit and we give him a fair bit of custom.
I had two banana milkshakes, a stilton and pepper panini and a slice of their delicious choccy cake. I also got spinning lessons/tips off Carol and have kindly been given some roving and lent a spindle to practice with. I think next month I shall treat myself to some roving, not sure about a spindle, might have to save for one yet.
I had a chat about the UK version of Etsy called Folksy where UK sellers are generally having better luck, think I may transfer some of my items to a Folksy account.
Anyhoo, yes, had a good time, meal and learnt spinning better than I had from the book I'd gotten.
