Nooooooooooo!
I've upset the second joint of my right index finger and it gets worse if I knit or crochet so I've had to change plans for various people's christmas presents as I can't make them in time. Luckily I didn't have many planned but hopefully I can see a doc. and get it sorted in time to make them as birthday pressies instead.
Mum is getting locally made Turkish Delight
Dad is getting a port&stilton box
Grandma I can't remember, need to ask Mum when I ring to check addresses tomorrow
Grandad is getting a little pack of pontefract cakes (licorice stuff)
Jo's pressie will start to be constructed with a trip to the sweet shop in Hebden. I'm getting a tub like you see in sweet shops and filling it with all his favourite sweets in layers. The sweets are coming from Hebden, Halifax and Todmorden.
Alison, my cousin's 4yo daughter will be getting something but I'm not sure what yet. I knit her an elephant last year that was truly adored and was planning on knitting a dinosaur based on the Norberta pattern from Knitty but I can't complete that now. I have knit a Norbert for the bus driver who gives me a lift every day, I might make him a batch of shortbread and send the Norbert to Alison.
I'm sending some yarn to Morgan in a little swap we're doing between us. I'm sending her a whole ball. I was going to post tomorrow but I might save it for Wednesday and see if I can see a little something for her gorgeous daughter who's been through almost as much as her poor Mummy and is still a happy-go-lucky girl.
I'm also going to find a little something for BaronessO's 14m old son to include with her 'pay'(read: shreaddies and yarn) for the fantastic banners she made me. Thinking of which, they went live today! Had 2 clicks in the first day, how cool is that?
On the crafting thing I had a big shop on Friday, got some supplies for my shop and bits for me, I got myself a beading loom and have alrady done a little snowman dangly and a bracelet, photos later tonight when I take photos. I plan to turn the Honka scarf (http://www.ullaneule.net/0107/ohjeet_honka.html) into a beaded project. I've cut 23 strands of beading thread and crimped them in sets of 5 and a set of 3, tomorrow I plan to get someone to help me put them into the loom, I nearly lost it trying to get 10 strands in so 23 is insane for one person to manage. I will msot definitely take progress photos of that, it should be great. Need to get more beads on Wednesday though, I thought I had loads but now I'm looming I have few.
Anyway, ramble over.
Later peeples.
