This Thursday will be Christmas with all accompaniments.
We have the turkey, chipolatas, bacon, ham joint, potatoes, sprouts(just for me), gravy (again, just for me), and all the rest of it.
Tomorrow evening we put it all together, stick it in the fridge and then thursday it goes in the oven with only the veg to prepare.
I've sent the Sezession I was working on to MIL, hubbie pointed out she's nearly a foot shorter than me so the size I'd made would be big enough (it met round my shoulders). I started another one yesterday, partly for something to do while waiting to give blood and partly because, as Morgan has said, they are simple, mindless and great! Morgan: the yarn I sent you will make a lovely one, it's what I'm using now and it's lovely and warm. No photos until after Christmas from me though.
I managed to finish FIL's hat, I was considering throwing it across the room but hubbie helped me on and it was done, even if it did have a nipple at the top.
We've gotten lots of money for Christmas already so we're hoping to get a Wii console next year, maybe on EBay, maybe from one of the shops.
We got a live tree this year, in a pot. My parents came to visit on Saturday and we showed them to Gordon Rigg in return for getting to use their car to get the tree, huge pot, compost and such home. Mum managed to get herself some trainers that should grip in the snow, a new lightweight waterproof and a new seasonal tablecloth. Dad got a new fleece that felt really warm. We need to repot the tree, not sure when though, we didn't want to do it at the weekend incase the poor thing keeled over from the shock but now it's well watered and warmed we might do it soon. We think we'll just put the lights on and maybe a decoration at the top, otherwise we're both happy just to have a lovely, quirky tree. I fell in love with it when I saw it was slightly wiggly in all the branches :)
Anyhoo, have a good Christmas peeples.
