Barry is thought to be a hybrid ferret. I.e. part domesticated ferret, part wild polecat. The last part makes him *extremely* high strung and prone to nipping purely on reflex.
Now, usually in playtime he's always awake and trying to get into my desk drawers by the end of an hour so I was bemused today when I put the other 5 sleepy heads to bed and couldn't find him, he usually hears the cage door close and comes running to be put to bed. Surprise! He was fast asleep in the spare cage.
I've known him Since July 2006 when he was only 7 weeks old, it's taken 2 years of love and consistency but he finally feels calm enough to sleep outside the cage.
Yay.
Going to go make stitch markers now.
